Transponders

The chip transmits the signal which is picked up by two coils positioned around the ignition barrel in the vehicle. The coils activate when the key is within reach and transmit a pulse of electromagnetic energy to the transponder chip. The chip then responds by sending back an individual identification number to the car. The unique code can then be used to unlock doors and begin the car.
